Backyard of the Week – January 22, 2018

Each week we feature a different astrophotography setup from around the world. By taking a look at a complete kit, we are able to get a better picture of what’s working for others.

Take the guesswork out of the process, and replicate a system with proven results.  This week, we have a mean and clean setup from the United Kingdom.

For the first ever backyard of the week, we have a very professional looking setup from Duan Yusef.  I love the dual camera and scope setup, with both a Color and Mono camera on the same rig!

The cable management is impressive on this very clean looking setup that includes a big 130mm Altair 130 EDT Triplet APO.  The Sky-Watcher EQ8 SynScan Mount is an ultra heavy duty mount that I have not seen in too many setups.  The 50kg payload capacity means that dual-scope setup like this moves effortlessly across the sky.

Thank you for sharing your setup, Duan!  Be sure to check out Duan’s photo gallery on Flickr.
